Gut Health Tips
Apples are a natural source of fibre, particularly pectin, a type of soluble fibre that helps support digestion and feed beneficial gut bacteria. Baking apples softens their structure, making them easier to digest while still retaining much of their fibre content. This cake also provides small amounts of polyphenols from apples and spices such as cinnamon, which may help support microbial balance in the gut. While cake should always be enjoyed in moderation, choosing bakes that include fruit and fibre-containing ingredients can contribute to overall dietary variety and support a healthy gut when enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.
